A Lifestyle of Praise

“Now therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious name.” - 1 Chronicles 29:13 Today’s blog entry is titled “A Lifestyle of Praise”…

Throughout the course of our lives, we have the opportunity to make a lot of decisions. One of the big decisions that we make on a daily basis is what we choose to magnify in our lives. By magnify, I mean put our primary focus on. We can choose to magnify challenges/circumstance/problems, or we can choose to magnify Jesus Christ. When we focus on Jesus Christ, it helps to put things in proper perspective. He is bigger than any problem that we face. We can take comfort in the fact that He loves us, and we can cast our cares on Him.

“O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together.” - Psalm 34:3

Praising God should be a lifestyle. It’s not something that should ONLY be done while singing songs at church. And it’s not something that should ONLY be done when we receive something from God that we have been praying about. Don’t get me wrong, it’s good to praise God during those times, but our praise should not be limited to those times. We should praise God on a daily basis because of who He is! He is awesome! He’s the Alpha & Omega! It’s a blessing that we can communicate with Him, and we should never take it for granted.

“It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, O Most High:” - Psalm 92:1

“By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.” – Hebrews 13:15

Sometimes things may not be going the way that we want them to go, but we should not allow ourselves to complain. We should be thankful for everything that God has blessed us with. If thoughts of discouragement try to come into our minds, we should counter those thoughts with the Word of God, and continue to give God praise. Depending on the situation, a person may not feel like praising God  in the midst of what they are going through; but regardless of how we feel it’s important that we continue to put our faith in God and praise Him! So as we continue to grow in our walk with Jesus Christ, let us remember to live a lifestyle of praise.

”Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.” - Philippians 4:4
