Holy Spirit Led

“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.” -  John 14:26 (NKJV). Today’s blog entry is titled “Holy Spirit Led”….

I have a song called Cross Training and the lyrics of the hook go as follows… “Holy Spirit led fed by the Word of God, Learning to be patient even if it gets hard, Take up your Cross and deny yourself daily, I’m getting stronger it’s like I’m Cross Training”. It’s important for us to be led by the Holy Spirit, instead of just doing whatever we feel like doing. When we are led by the Holy Spirit, we may encounter some things that we don’t understand, but it’s important that we have patience and not try to take things into our own hands. The Holy Spirit is real; He is here to help us so it’s important that we have an understanding of His role in our lives. Reading/Knowing the Word of God is also an important part of the Christian walk. As we have a better understanding of the Word, we can get closer in our relationship with Jesus Christ, and make better decisions in our day to day lives. When we are led by the Holy Spirit, and read the Word of God on a regular basis, the Holy Spirit can help us grow in our understanding of how to respond biblically in the various situations we encounter throughout our lives.

“If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!” – Luke 11:13 (NKJV)

“Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.” – Romans 8:26

When the Holy Spirit reveals certain things about ourselves that we need to change, we shouldn’t ignore Him, we should respond by being obedient.  As it says in Galatians 5:22-23, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,  gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.” As Christians we should be growing in these areas. This isn’t to say that we will always do things perfect, however we should be making progress. There are many verses in the Bible that deal with the Holy Spirit, and it’s important that we have an understanding of who He is. So as we continue to grow in our Christian walk, let us remember the importance of being Holy Spirit led.

“Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?” – 1 Corinthians 6:19 (NKJV)
