Stay Encouraged!

Stay Encouraged….There are times in our Christian walk when things can become quite challenging. These challenges can come in a number of ways, but regardless of the situation, God has a solution.

As Christians, it is essential that we continue to keep our faith in Jesus Christ, no matter what our current situation looks like (Without faith it is impossible to please God.- see Hebrews 11:6). Sometimes it can be tempting to start depending on (trusting in) other things such as: money, a job, spouse, friends, etc. However, without God, everything else will fail. Remember God is the source, the things/people that he uses in order to bless us are resources. Never put more emphasis on the resource than you do on the source. With that being said, we may come to times in our lives where we are like, “God what do I do next?” You may have a bill(s) that will soon be due, and you have absolutely no idea how you will pay it. Or you may be seeking God for a new job because they are doing you wrong at your current place of employment. In times like these, when you have done what you are suppose to do (meaning that you are putting works with your faith –remember faith without works is dead- see James 2:20), then be sure that you have casted your cares upon Christ (1 Peter 5:7). God let’s us know that He, “…will not suffer us to be tempted above that ye are able.” (1 Corinthians 10:13). So if we feel like we have more on us than we can handle, it may be because we are trying to carry things around that are not meant for us to carry (I have definitely been in this category at times…lol).

There are so many things that can happen throughout our Christian walk that may not make sense to us. I have personally learned that it is very important not to lean unto my own understanding. Some things are not for us to understand, and other things may be revealed to us at a later time. It’s not my job to figure out why God is doing what He’s doing at every specific moment. Instead, I am to read God’s Word, and obey it and follow Him.

We can take comfort in the fact of knowing, that God will never leave us nor forsake us (see Hebrews 13:5). There can be various reasons why God allows us to go through challenging things. The important thing is to know that God will guide His children through any and every storm we face. I believe one of the reasons that praising God is so important is because when we praise God, it helps us to take our mind off of our current situation and focus on how great our God is. When you realize how big and powerful our God is, your problems tend to seem a whole lot smaller than they originally did (I also want to point out that God inhabits the praises of His people).

So no matter what comes your way, stay encouraged saints! Meditate on the Word of God, make sure it is written upon your heart. Be Blessed.

"For we walk by faith, not by sight." - 2 Corinthians 5:7
