Be Faithful To God

Have you ever seen someone who was really passionate about God? However, after receiving a blessing from God in a certain area (maybe a job promotion, a spouse, a business opportunity, etc) they started to focus less on God, and instead put the focus on themselves. “In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. – Proverbs 3:6. Today’s blog entry deals with being faithful to God.

As Christians, it’s important that we keep God first in our lives, and continue to seek Him, following His plan for us. There may be times when God blessed us with an opportunity that causes a change to our previous schedule; however we shouldn’t allow a change in our schedule to cause us to stop spending time with God. We should always make time for God; He should always be our first priority.

“Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.” - Proverbs 3:7

A Christian should never get to the point where they feel like “Ok God, I can take it from here”. And while most of us would probably never say it that way, we should also make sure that our actions are not conveying it. For instance, say you have someone who used to pray and read their Bible everyday, asking God to guide them through all their decisions. However after starting up their new business, they barely pray or read their Bible anymore. This is the type of situation that we want to make sure we avoid. Sometimes things like this can happen very subtle. The person may not have intentionally set out to stop reading their Bible, but regardless of the intent, the effects of them not reading their Bible start to show.

“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Romans 12:2

The way to avoid getting ourselves into a scenario like the one mentioned earlier is to renew our minds with the Word of God. By constantly keeping the Word of God in our minds, it can help us to keep things in their proper prospective. It can help to reiterate that God is our source (not the things of this World). Think about it in the natural sense, If a husband stops communicating and spending time with his wife, it can cause a lot issues in the marriage. Likewise if we stop spending time with God, it can cause a lot of issues in our lives.

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” - Proverbs 1:7
