Be Thankful

Can you remember the last time that you genuinely thanked God for the things He has done for you? It’s important that we highly value our relationship with Jesus, and keep Him at #1 on our list of priorities. Today’s blog entry deals with valuing our relationship with Christ.

“Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” –Ephesians 5:20

As Born Again Christians we have so much to be thankful for. We have received the gift of salvation, which allows us to have constant fellowship with Jesus Christ! It’s such a blessing to be saved, and it’s important that we do not allow ourselves to take it for granted. If we truly value our relationship with Christ, it should show in our actions, and in the way we spend our time. This is not to say we “work” to earn salvation, but rather to say that one of the byproducts of salvation is the desire to spend time with God. For example, think about a husband who says he loves his wife very much, yet he avoids her, and spends lots of time hanging around other women. Clearly his words are not lining up with his actions. It’s important for us to honestly examine ourselves to see where Christ is in our life.

There may be times when we experience challenges or disappointments, however this should not cause to start griping or complaining. Instead we should focus on Jesus, and all that He has done for us. We should give thanks, and praise God on a continual basis.
