Don't Let The World Put Limitations On You

Sometimes you may encounter people who look at your life and try to tell you what you can and can’t accomplish. It’s important not to allow others to put limitations on us, we instead should follow God’s plan for our lives. “But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.” Romans 8:11 (NKJV). Today’s blog entry is titled “Don’t Let The World Put Limitations On You”….

As Christians it’s important to realize that when we’re submitted to God, He can do  many great things through us for His Glory. It’s important that we find our identity in what God’s Word says about us, instead of what the world says about us. Sometimes people may say things such as all men do this (negative thing), or all woman act this (negative way). Don’t believe the lies of the enemy. Remember what 2 Corinthians 5:17 says “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”  So even if the people in your family have had a past history of doing certain things that are negative, don’t feel like you have to follow suit. Remember as a Christian you are a new creature!

“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” – 2 Timothy 1:7

As Christians we also should remember that we don’t have to respond to situations that way the world will normally respond to them. For instance, if we experience a challenging situation in our lives, we shouldn’t allow ourselves to do self-destructive types of things, instead we should cast our cares on Jesus (See 1 Peter 5:7), and rely upon Him to help us overcome the situation.  Regardless of what we encounter in life, we should continue to maintain our faith in God. And remember what Romans 10:17 says, “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”… If you ever feel like you’re having issues with your faith, be sure to spend more time in the Word of God.

So as we continue to grow in our walk with Christ, let us remember to find our identity in what He says, instead of what the world says. Don’t let the world put limitations on you.

“And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.” – Mark 10:27
