God Is Faithful

“God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.” - 1 Corinthians 1:9…There are times in the Christian walk when challenges may arise, however we can always take comfort in the fact that we serve a faithful, loving God who is there to guide us through any situation we face. Today’s blog entry deals with the Faithfulness of God.

“O give thanks unto the Lord for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.” – Psalm 136:1

The Christian life should be filled with thanks and gratitude to God; in our words and in our actions. The mindset that we approach life with is extremely important. When we focus on God and how awesome He is, it can help us put everything else going on in our lives in proper perspective. When we rehearse all the things that He has brought us through, it can help to serve as a reminder that He’s been there for us time after time. If we have times of uncertainty when we’re wondering, “how will we get through this”, or “what we will do next”, we should never become bitter with God, instead we should remember that He will never leave us or forsake us.

Since faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God, we should meditate upon the scriptures believing them to be true regardless of what our current situation looks like. This isn’t to say that everything will be easy when you do this, however it does give us a way to combat the things we’re up against. For instance, say you have two different football teams, one has been having two a day practices prior to the season starting, while the other team hasn’t been practicing at all. When the season starts and each team starts playing games, the team that has been practicing will likely have more success than the team that hasn’t. This isn’t to say that the season will be easy for the team that has been practicing, but by practicing, they are better prepared to be successful, and weather the storms that arise throughout the season. Likewise when we meditate upon the Word of God, we are better prepared to handle challenges that may arise in life.

God’s Word will not return Him void. He always does His part, it’s important that we remember to do ours. Don’t allow the enemy to get you into unbelief. If you ever start to feel like God doesn’t care about you, open up your Bible and rehearse the scriptures that talk about how much He loves you.

“Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience hope: And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.” – Romans 5:1-5
