How Do You View God?

“Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear: For our God is a consuming fire.” – Hebrews 12:28-29. It’s important that we don’t just approach God any type of way. We should reverence Him, and remember that He is Holy. Today’s blog entry is titled “How Do You View God?”…

Sometimes in life we may have things happen that we don’t understand. We may get frustrated about situations that we’re going through. However, we should not allow these things (or anything else) to cause us to become angry with God. We should never come to God in a disrespectful tone. Remember He’s the creator, we’re the creation. As it says in Colossians 1:16-17, “For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.  And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.”  We’re blessed that God even allowed us to be born. We should always remain thankful to Him, and continually strive to grow in our Christian walk.

“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” – Proverbs 3:5-6

When we put our trust in God, we can avoid a lot of frustration. We can take comfort in the fact that God knows what’s best for us, and He doesn’t make mistakes, so even if we don’t understand what’s going on in our lives, He does. The important thing is that we remain obedient to Him even during those challenging times. We should resist the urge to try to take things into our own hands, and remember that God knows what He’s doing.

“And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.” – Isaiah 6:3

God is Holy. His ways our higher than our ways (See Isaiah 55:8-9). We shouldn’t allow society to dictate to us what righteousness is, we instead should turn to the Word of God…. And while that may seem obvious, it’s important that we don’t allow ourselves to become desensitized by television, movies and other forms of entertainment/media. Sometimes people can start to feel a false sense of security when they experience a certain level of success on earth. But make no mistake about it, we all will have to give an account to God for the way live our lives on earth, and we’ll be judged based on what His word says. Our desire should be to live a lifestyle that pleases Him. So has we continue to grow in our Christian walk, let make sure that we properly reverence God.

“ For the earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof.” – 1 Corinthians 10:26 KJV
