In The Morning

The way we start the morning off can help set the tone for our entire day. “The Lord God hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned.” -  Isaiah 50:4. Today’s blog entry is titled “In The Morning”...

Throughout the course of a day there are many different things that a person can encounter. And sometimes there may a tendency to wake up in the morning and get on the move very quickly. However it’s important that we are thankful for each day that God gives us, and that we express that thanks to Him. Before we get on social networks, check our email, or turn on the TV, we should spend time with God. Praying and reading the Bible in the morning can help us maintain our focus and be ready to deal with the various things we will encounter throughout the day.

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.  And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” – Romans 12:1-2

Renewing our minds with the Word of God is essential; as we go about our daily tasks, we may come across many different viewpoints, (that don’t line up with the Word of God) whether it’s through people that we know, billboards that we drive by, things we see on the internet, etc. It’s important that we don’t allow ourselves to become desensitized to various viewpoints that are ungodly. We should continue to use the Word of God as our guide.

“Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise.” – Psalm 98:4

Singing praises to God is something that we can do throughout the entire day, and it’s also something to consider doing during our time with God in the morning. When we praise God, it can help us focus on how awesome He is and approach the rest of the day with the right mindset.

I also recommend eating a good breakfast before getting going with the rest of the day (You may have noticed that I’m a big fan of breakfast lol). Sometimes breakfast can be a meal that is overlooked, however eating a good breakfast can also help with starting your day off the right way.

So as we continue to grow in our walk with Jesus Christ, let us remember the importance of spending time with Him in the morning.

“It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.” – Lamentations 3:22-23
