Living According To The Truth

Have you noticed how society often places a large emphasis on the “majority’s opinion” when it comes to determining whether or not something is right or wrong? The bottom line is the Word of God overrules any man made rules/regulations. Many people are constantly doing things to suppress the truth. But suppressing the truth does not change reality. We all will stand before God one day, and have to give an account for how we lived on earth. Today’s blog deals with living according to the truth.

“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” - John 8:32

In today’s society, many people are trying to avoid the truth. There are various methods that people use to try to avoid dealing with the truth. These methods can include (but are not limited to): getting drunk, using drugs, having sex, talking on the phone, watching TV, etc. Doing these things (or other negative distractions) may make you feel better temporarily, but it does not help the root of the problem. Think of it like this, if someone has an injury, and is given medicine to take away the pain, they may feel better, but the injury (the root issue) still has to be dealt with.

It’s important that we live our lives according to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, regardless of what the world says is ok. It’s a good idea to be careful of: what you allow yourself to take in (whether it be what you listen to, what you watch, who you hang around, etc).

“Thus saith the Lord, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches:
But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the Lord which exercise loving-kindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the Lord.” - Jeremiah 9:23-24
