Our My Actions Glorifying God?

“Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.” – 1 Corinthians 10:31. Today’s blog entry is titled “Are My Actions Glorifying God?”

1 Corinthians 10:31 is a Bible verse that I think about often. If you’ve ever watched my web show “About 10 Minutes”, you may have noticed that each episode of the show opens with that verse. I think it’s important to have a mindset to represent Jesus Christ in every area of our lives (both in public and private). God sees our actions and the motives behind our actions, so it’s important that we have pure motives, and a genuine desire to please Him.

“Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.” – Romans 12:21

Sometimes in life we may encounter people who try to provoke us to do negative things that are out of character. It’s important that we continue to carry ourselves in a way that honor’s God regardless of what people say to us. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that we should allow people to walk all over us; But my point is that we should not have a “hot button” that people can press that causes us to act out of character.

“Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:” – James 1:19

“Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men:” – 2 Corinthians 3:2

The decisions that we make can affect many people, so it’s important that we are mindful of the things we say and do. When we show people the love of Christ in everyday situations, it can lead to them noticing that there is something different about us, and open the door for us to share the Gospel with them. So as we continue to grow in our walk with Christ, let us remember to respond to the various situations we encounter in life in a way that is pleasing to Him.

“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;” – Colossians 3:23
