Remember Who Your enemy Is

As Christians, we shouldn’t be fighting against each other. We should be working together as the Body of Christ to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:” – 1 Peter 5:8. Today’s blog entry is titled, “Remember Who Your enemy Is”...

If you’ve read some of my past blog entries or watched some of my web show episodes in the past, you may have figured out that I enjoy sports haha. There are a lot of lessons that can be learned from sports, one of which is the importance of working together to accomplish a goal. If members of the team lose sight of the goal of winning they can begin to do selfish things that hurt the team, and cause unnecessary problems. Picture this, there’s a team that had a great regular season, and is also doing well in the playoffs. This team is a front runner to win a championship, however at one point, a player from an opposing team stops by their practice one day, waits until the practice is over, and then starts saying things to certain players on the team….”Why is he playing more minutes that you, you know you’re better than he is”….”They should be running more plays for you”….and so on and so forth. As a result the teammates begin thinking about what the opposing player says and eventually start arguing with each other, messing up the team chemistry.

And while you may be thinking to yourself come on, who would really fall for that. It’s obvious what the other player is doing… It’s important that we don’t allow this same thing to happen with us as brothers and sisters in Christ. We should remember that the devil is our enemy. We shouldn’t allow him to distract us or cause us to have conflict with each other.

For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.” – 1 Corinthians 12:12

“Only by pride cometh contention: but with the well advised is wisdom.” – Proverbs 13:10

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” – Ephesians 6:12

So as we continue to grow in our walk with Jesus Christ, let us stay focused on the assignments that He has given us. We shouldn’t be envious of other people. We should be thankful for what God has blessed us with. And we should do the best we can to be faithful over everything He has entrusted us with. Don’t allow the devil to cause you to fight your sister/brother in Christ. Remember, the devil is your real enemy. As some of you may know, I have song called “Sibling Rivalry”  that deals with the fact that we should be working together as brothers and sisters in Christ, instead of fighting one another. If you’ve never heard the song you can listen to it at the following link.

Be blessed.
