Stay Disciplined

Doing the things that we need to do in our lives on a regular basis (Handing our personal responsibilities, keeping up with various tasks, etc.) may seem challenging at times; However it’s important that we don’t allow these things to overwhelm us. We should remember 1 Peter 5:7 “casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.” Today’s blog entry is titled “Stay Disciplined”.

There are times in life where we may have to do things that we don’t feel like doing (or want to do at that particular time). However, we shouldn’t allow our feelings to take us off of the path that God has us on. When God blesses us with an opportunity, we should remain obedient to Him, and make the most of the opportunity we’ve been blessed with. If we notice that we are slacking in certain areas of our lives, we should make the necessary changes and continue to progress.

“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” – Galatians 6:9

If you were part of a sports team at any point of your life, you are probably very familiar with the word “Practice”. Practices can be very intense and really push an individual; however it’s an important part of improving and being prepared to compete. If an athlete wants to improve, they should definitely put in practice time. Likewise, there may be times when a college student may not feel like going to classes any more, however if they want to complete their coursework and earn their degree, they need to continue to attend class. In our lives, it’s important that we don’t allow ourselves to give up if we experience times where we don’t feel like move forward, but instead we should pray and ask God to help us get through those times.

“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” – John 16:33

Regardless of how much responsibility a person has in their life (Whether it’s family related, work related, or in other areas of life), they should continue to make time for God, and always keep Him first. They should also be good stewards over the things that they’ve been blessed with. So as we continue to grow in our walk with Jesus Christ, let us stay disciplined in the spiritual areas of our lives, and the natural areas of our lives.

“But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.” -  1 Corinthians 9:27
