The Holiness of God

And one cried to another and said: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts;
The whole earth is full of His glory!” – Isaiah 6:3 (NKJV). Today’s blog entry is titled “The Holiness of God”….

Have you ever thought about what it will be like when you go before God after your time on earth is complete? What a great day that will be for born again Christians! To experience God in a whole new way is definitely something exciting to look forward to. With that being said, there are many people that we come in contact with who are not saved, and would be headed to Hell if they were to leave earth today. And that is a sad thought. As Christians we should be telling people the truth about eternity.

“For our God is a consuming fire.” – Hebrews 12:29 (NKJV)

“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” – John 14:6 (NKJV)

There are many people who are deceived when it comes to what determines who will go to Heaven. Some people believe that if a person does more good deeds than bad deeds they will be ok, however that is not true.  “But we are all like an unclean thing, And all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags; We all fade as a leaf, And our iniquities, like the wind, Have taken us away.” – Isaiah 64:6 (NKJV). The previous scripture lets us know that our righteousness is like filthy rags. God is Holy, and His standard is so much higher than mankind’s. And since God is the Creator, and He sets the standard, it’s important for us to do things His way, instead of getting caught up in the world’s way of doing things. Jesus Christ is the only way to get to God the Father. A person must be saved in order to go to Heaven.

“But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.” – James 4:6 (NKJV)

There are prideful people in the world who don’t want to abide by God’s way of doing things. Some even make up lies about God, and the way He does things. However making up lies, doesn’t change reality. And the reality is, one day every person will have to give an account to God for the way they lived on earth. And this will not be a time where blaming others or attempting to run away will do any good. As Christians we should let people know that God is Holy, and make sure they have a proper understanding of the Gospel. So as we live our lives, let’s take advantage of the opportunities that God gives us to tell people about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Let’s tell more people about the holiness of God.

“Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance; but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.” – 1 Peter 1:13-16 (NKJV)
