Wait Upon The Lord

Have you ever thought you wanted something at a specific time in your life; however as time went on, you later saw that it was good that you didn’t get what you wanted when you wanted it? God knows what is best for us, and it’s important that we do things in His timing. “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”- Isaiah 41:30…Today’s blog topic is “Wait Upon The Lord”.

When someone feels like they’re ready to do something, waiting can be a challenging thing to do. Whether it’s a person that wants to start a new business, a single person that wants to be married, etc; We as people can sometimes find that God’s timing is a lot different than our own. Sometimes thoughts such as “Why is this taking so long”? or “Why is this so hard”? may come across your mind if you find yourself in a situation where you’re desiring something to happen that hasn’t happened yet. There could be a number of reasons why something that you’ve been praying to God about hasn’t happened yet. One reason could be that God is still preparing you, and doesn’t want to put you in a position prematurely. If a person has a lot of passion and zeal to start a business, and yet doesn’t understand how to handle the day to day operations to keep the business running, there’s a good chance that the business won’t have the type of success the person would like it to have. However, as a person spends more time learning what it will take to start/run a successful business (and maybe even gets mentored by a business owner or two), there is a good chance the person will be better prepared to run a successful business.

There could also be various reasons why a person who desires to be married has not yet been married. For example, the person may need to spend some more time developing as an individual, and learning what their role should be within a marriage. Or maybe the person has been hurt in past relationships, and needs time to address certain issues in their life, so that they don’t bring those issues into their marriage. The important thing is to trust God, and make the most of every moment that He gives you. Don’t complain. Enjoy the current place that God has you in life. Spend time with Him. Continue to grow in Him.

“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:” – Ecclesiastes 3:1

It’s important that we don’t rush into something prematurely. Remember to wait on God. And when the time comes for you to move forward into something that God has called you to do, don’t be afraid to move forward. Seek God, and ask Him for wisdom to know when you should wait, and when you should move forward.

“But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.”- James 1:4-5
