We Need Jesus

“I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.” – John 15:5. It’s important that we stay connected to Jesus at all times. Today’s blog entry is titled “We need Jesus”.

If you’re a born again Christian, you obviously understand that having a relationship with Jesus Christ is extremely important. As it says in John 14:6, “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” Jesus is the only way for a person to get to Heaven. And while we know we need Him for eternal life, we should be sure to remember that we need Him while we’re here on earth as well. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that a Christian would blatantly proclaim that they don’t need Jesus here on earth. However sometimes it can be tempting to try to take things into our own hands instead of trusting Jesus and waiting on His timing. This can lead to a lot of disappointment. Or sometimes it can be tempting to look at our own flaws and think God wouldn’t use us for a certain role/task. However when renew our minds with the Word of God, and seek God for guidance, we can avoid traps of the enemy. This isn’t to say that things will always be easy, however when we face challenges, we can face them being obedient to God, instead of being in disobedience. Being in disobedience can bring consequences to a person that they otherwise wouldn’t have had to deal with.

So as we continue to grow in our Christian walk, let us remember to stay connected to Jesus Christ. Let us seek Him when we’re making decisions. Let us continue to trust Him even if we encounter some things in our lives that we don’t understand. It’s important that we obey God, and avoid trying to force something that is not God’s will.

“If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. – John 15:6-7
