When The World Doesn't Want To Hear The Truth 

“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;” 2 Timothy 3:1-4. Today’s blog entry is titled “When the World Doesn’t Want To Hear The Truth”…

We live in a society where there are many people who want to silence Christians. There are people who reject the Bible and don’t want to acknowledge their sin. So what should our response be as Christians??? We should continue to speak the truth in Love (being able to support what we say with scripture). We shouldn’t let this world intimidate us. We should stand strong and represent Jesus Christ.

“The righteous shall never be removed: but the wicked shall not inhabit the earth. – Proverbs 10:30”

I’m a basketball fan, so I’m definitely aware of who Chris Broussard is (I met him back in 2010). It’s GREAT to see that he spoke the truth and called Homosexuality a sin (Like the Bible does). Sin is sin and it’s not up to society to pick and choose what parts of the Bible it wants to believe/accept. However in today’s society when people don’t like when someone stands up for the Bible, there can be a backlash. This causes me to think about the scripture Galatians 4:16 which reads as follows “Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?” As some of you may know, the album I released in 2012 has a song called “Galatians 4:16” on it where I talk about sin (including homosexuality). As Christians it’s important that we continue to stand strong and speak the truth, even if that means getting talked about by others. When you speak the truth, some people may view you as an enemy, but don’t let fear stop you from doing what God has called you to do. If we truly love unbelievers, we should let them know that all have sinned (See Romans 3:23). We should tell them about Jesus Christ, and let them know that if they reject Jesus and die in their sin they will go to hell. These same rules apply to every person (whether they’re homosexual or not).

“Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.” -1 Corinthians 6:9-10

So as we continue to grow in our Christian walk, let us continue to speak the truth in love. Let us also pray for Chris Broussard, and our other brothers and sisters in Christ, who speak the truth about sin. The Word of God is powerful, and people need to have an understanding of what it says.

“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”- John 8:32
