Preparation is an important part of life. Whether it’s a student preparing for an exam, an athlete preparing for a game, or a recording artist preparing for a concert; the way a person prepares can have a huge impact on the outcome of what they are trying to accomplish. In the aforementioned scenarios, a person may be motivated to prepare because they directly see a correlation between them preparing for those things and having success (For example, putting in a lot of study time has led to them getting good grades on tests in the past, so they continue to do it).
However it may be more challenging for a person to endure the preparation process when they don’t exactly know what they’re being prepared for….You may be thinking to yourself, what do you mean??? Well…sometimes in life a person may go through a series of challenges that will prepare them for something great down the road that they don’t currently see or anticipate. If they become distracted by how challenging things are and quit the process, they can miss out on the reward they would have received had they continued and completed process.
“Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise: Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler, Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest.” – Proverbs 6:6-8
“For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.” – Psalm 30:5
Throughout the preparation process, a person can experience various types of emotions, but it’s important that a person doesn’t allow their emotions to cause them to make poor decisions. It’s important for us to keep our composure even when we don’t like or understand what’s happening in our lives. When we put our trust in God and follow Him, we can take comfort in the fact that we are being led by Him, and that He knows what’s best for us. Never let your current circumstance ruin the progress you have made. Continue to move forward, keep a positive attitude. If other people look at your situation and start to criticize/question you, don’t let that sway you either, keep obeying God. Remember, when you’re following God, you don’t need to be worried, and you don’t need the approval of others.
So as we continue to grow in our walk with Jesus Christ, let us remain faithful throughout the preparation process.
“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” – John 16:33
